TOP TIPS

To get the best results from your hair-removal routine, you need to not only have reliable depilatory products, but also healthy skin. Follow our top tips to avoid suffering from bumps, redness and ingrown hairs after your hair-removal session.
TIP 1

HYDRATE YOUR SKIN

Dehydrated skin is one of the most common skin complaints and it can be caused by many things including the weather, pollution, poor diet, using unsuitable products and over-cleansing. If you already have dehydrated skin, then some hair removal methods could make it worse so you need to be careful about which one you choose.
Shaving is not the best option for those with dehydrated skin, as the sharp blades can remove the essential oils that form a barrier on your skin. By showering or bathing before you shave and using a reliable shaving cream or gel while you’re shaving, you will remove as little of that barrier as possible and ensure that your skin is hydrated. In addition, we recommend using a moisturising, unscented and fragrance-free lotion after shaving.
Many people with dehydrated skin prefer to use depilatory creams as they moisturise your skin at the same time as removing the hair. Our hair removal creams are enriched with antioxidant Vitamin E and anti-inflammatory pro-vitamin B5 to ensure your skin is as moisturised as possible.
Waxing is often considered to be the best solution for people with dehydrated skin. This is because the wax strips are tailored to meet everyone’s needs. You can choose from a wide range of Dimples wax strips. We offer Normal Skin strips, Coarse Hair strips with Vitamin E and Sensitive Skin strips with Boswellia Serrata extract. What’s more, all our wax strips come with aloe vera post-wax cream to soothe and moisturise your skin.

EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN

It is essential to exfoliate regularly if you want clear, radiant skin. Exfoliating involves removing all your dead skin cells and additional toxins in order to expose the new, healthy skin underneath. And this isn’t limited to your face, exfoliating from head to toe is important before applying any tanning product or waxing to achieve the best results. The experts advise exfoliating and moisturising your skin regularly after shaving or waxing to help reduce the occurrence of ingrown hairs. We recommend exfoliating once a month as your skin renews itself every 30 days. If you leave the old cells on the surface of your skin and they build up over time, they can lead to a flat, dull appearance and blemishes.
There are many exfoliating tools out there, but there a few essential things that you will need in order to exfoliate your skin. We recommend buying a loofah, a back brush, pumice stone, exfoliating body wash and a lightweight moisturiser. The first thing you need to do is take your dry loofah and rub it over your skin. Then hop in the shower and use your pumice stone all over your body starting with your feet to rub away all the dead skin cells. Apply your exfoliating body wash in a circular motion all over your body and use the loofah again to ensure you have removed every bit of dead skin. Use the back brush to get all those hard to reach areas on your back. Make sure you rinse off the body wash and dead skin with lukewarm water as hot water could hurt your new, delicate skin. After your shower, apply a moisturising body lotion all over.

MASSAGE YOUR LEGS

If you want to flaunt super smooth, sexy, sleek legs all year round, then you need to massage your legs regularly. It is important to set the mood first by lighting some candles, putting on some relaxing music and making sure the house is quiet. Run a warm bath and add a few drops of essential oils such as avocado oil to the bath water to instantly make your skin softer and tender and relieve the pain and swelling in your legs.
Then gently lower yourself into the bath and apply a few drops of body oil onto the palms of your hands. Make sure you rub them together until they are warm. Raise one of your legs and bend the knee slowly. Then use a gentle, circular motion with your knuckle or thumb on each of your legs, squeezing lightly, and using long strokes to activate blood circulation and help the muscles relax. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water after your massage to rehydrate your tissues.
